Having painting in oils for many years, I fell in love with watercolors from my first brush stroke on watercolor paper. Contrary to what you may have heard, learning to control the medium is not hard. Once you learn the basic techniques, you will love the magical qualities of watercolors. The blending of colors wet-on-wet and the glow of light reflecting off the paper through the paint cannot be duplicated in any other medium. Success comes with learning basic watercolor techniques and taking time to plan your approach to a painting. The magical results are well worth the learning curve and the planning time.
I teach watercolor painting classes now to share my enthusiasm with students of the art. If you would like to join in the fun, check the class schedule on the right side of the page. With the right approach, you can have success from the beginning. As you learn more about watercolors, you will learn a rich variety of techniques, tips and tricks that will give you the tools you need to unleash your own creativity. I created this website as a place for all watercolor enthusiasts to share information, ask questions and increase their knowledge of painting in watercolors.

I just uploaded a small watercolor pencil painting to prismacolor.com called Amsterdam Canal. Take a look. I am going to add a class and minilesson on watercolor pencils and crayons sometime soon.
